There have a number of questions raised in recent weeks off the back of some of the changes which are ongoing with Crowd Racing, HFR and some of the horses. I have pulled together the most common questions, along with answers in this post. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Crowd Racing has over 300 active owners involved in our racehorses, and when we asked them why they got involved the reasons were many and varied. We have taken the top 9 reasons to Own a Racehorse and will dig into them a little here. Share of Prize Money It is never recommended that anyone gets involved in racehorse ownership just for the benefit of winning prize-money. Not many horses pay their way with earnings from winning races, but for our owners, it is valuable to them that they do get a share of anything their horse […]
Ever wondered what it would be like to be a winning racehorse owner and get involved in Post Race Celebrations? Crowd Racing had a good crowd of our owners at Kempton to see BORN TO FINISH grab his third win in his last three races. The link below will give you a small flavour of what was like! https://www.periscope.tv/w/1yNxadklldVJj We still have a few shares left in Born To Finish, it is not too late to get involved!
Born To Finish stormed to victory at Kempton Park under David Parkes, and in amongst the crowd of delighted owners was ex-footballer and now TV personality Ian Wright. As a part-owner of BTF, Ian was buzzing to see the horse achieve his hat-trick as you can see from the interview he did with fellow part-owner Oli Bell on The Racing Channel. Kempton Park are not the most helpful with Owners and Trainers Badges, but with a combination of our standard allocation, a few “paid for” O & T Badges, and some owners having other routes to the O & T […]
Crowd Racing is busting the myth – horse racing is something to be enjoyed by all, not just kings, sheikhs or millionaires. You really don’t need a lot in your wallet to enjoy a great day’s experience in the racing world, with a close-up opportunity of a day in the life of a racehorse owner. It is a day that you will never forget and not just viewed from the rails. Whether you have been interested in horse racing or not, this is a chance to get up close and personal with these magnificent animals. You can taste what it […]
See the horses, meet the team, socialise with the Crowd Racing crowd! This Saturday, 26th November, our friends at Horses First Racing will be opening the doors to their wonderful stables at Danebury. Trainer Jeremy Gask and his wife Kerrie will be hosting the Open Day with assistance from Eamonn Wilmott. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend but the team are more than capable of looking after everyone and know significantly more than I ever will about the horses. There will be some questions that may have been saved for the Open Day that will need to be bounced […]
The latest addition to the Crowd Racing string, the wonderful Flying Bear heads to Lingfield Park on Saturday for the 345 race under David Parkes. He has a nice draw in 3, over the rapid 5f and he goes well on the track, plus there will be plenty of pace in the race with two committed trailblazers queued to slug it out up front. “The Bear” is a lovely racehorse, and is a consistent battle hardened sprinter. We are sure all his owners will have great fun following him for the next twelve months and with ownership costs ranging from £100 […]
Buy your share of Major Crispies this weekend to be entered into a prize draw. Major Crispies ran a cracking race at Kempton last week, confirming his talent and well-being and surely a win isn’t far away. He is a tricky ride, and needs settled and brought with a run and George Baker was so close to getting it right. MC finished an excellent second, giving the winner 5lbs. The image below from the Racing Post shows just how close the race was. Jeremy is confident that Major Crispies will be better over a little further and he is adapting his […]
Crowd Racing trainer Jeremy Gask has made this excellent video, explaining the process organising racehorse entries. The process can be challenging depending on availability of opportunities for the horse and is a key part of training a horse. A part that racehorse owners don’t tend to know an awful lot about. We are often asked questions, around why a horse is running over this distance or that distance, why that course? why that class? This video is a unique insight into the process and complexity of finding the right race for your horse. Crowd Racing has a lot of owners who are […]
The outcome of this week’s vote by the members of the partnership is for The Detainee to go to the sales. A 3yr old gelding with 6 races under his belt, Crowd Racing horse The Detainee has been a little bit disappointing and despite over 40% of the owners wanting to keep the horse for a further year, the majority vote decided his fate. He will now head to the HIT sales at the end of October with a £5,000 reserve price, although efforts will be made by Crowd Racing to purchase the horse back and resyndicate him. All […]
