DARK ANGEL – PROFILE OF A TOP STALLION

As Crowd Racing horse Born To Finish’s name suggests, he truly does have a pedigree par excellence, as is ably revealed by the story of his sire Dark Angel.     An elegant grey, Dark Angel was a top class sprinter in his day. Excelling in a nine race campaign as a two year old. Those nine outings netted one second place and four victories, including in the group two Mill Reef Stakes and the group one Middle Park Stakes. Retiring after that solitary season as a racer, Dark Angel then reached legendary status as a sire. It is as […]

Aqlaam – Sire of The Detainee

Aqlaam Stallion Profile As sire of the Crowd Racing horse The Detainee, the story of stallion Aqlaam is well worth knowing. Trained by leading trainer William Haggas, Aqlaam was a progressive miler who placed on his only 2yr old start. Quickly progressing on to bigger and better things in his 3yr old year.   Eight subsequent race outings delivered no fewer than four victories, with most of these coming in valuable and prestigious contests. Amongst Aqlaam’s most impressive wins were the Group Three Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Group Two Summer Mile Stakes at the same course and a […]

Neymar… What would £200 million buy in horse-racing?

Neymar /Neigh-Mar: What Would £200 Million Get You in the World of Racing?     Like most sports fans who appreciate the value of money and possess a modicum of common sense, Crowd Racing was absolutely stunned to read about this week’s £200 million transfer of footballer Neymar from Barcelona to PSG. After our initial shock, however, we got to thinking about just what £200 million might have got the architects of the transfer if they’d chosen to invest it in racing instead. Given that PSG’s financiers are from Qatar, too, it’s hardly beyond the realms of possibility.   You […]

Born To Finish stormed to victory at Kempton Park under David Parkes, and in amongst the crowd of delighted owners was ex-footballer and now TV personality Ian Wright. As a part-owner of BTF, Ian was buzzing to see the horse achieve his hat-trick as you can see from the interview he did with fellow part-owner Oli Bell on The Racing Channel. Kempton Park are not the most helpful with Owners and Trainers Badges, but with a combination of our standard allocation, a few “paid for” O & T Badges, and some owners having other routes to the O & T […]

Flying Bear Heads to Lingfield Park on Saturday

The latest addition to the Crowd Racing string, the wonderful Flying Bear heads to Lingfield Park on Saturday for the 345 race under David Parkes. He has a nice draw in 3, over the rapid 5f and he goes well on the track, plus there will be plenty of pace in the race with two committed trailblazers queued to slug it out up front. “The Bear” is a lovely racehorse, and is a consistent battle hardened sprinter. We are sure all his owners will have great fun following him for the next twelve months and with ownership costs ranging from £100 […]
